Off screen, Graham was the one focused on academics.
The actor began college at NYU as an acting major, as she recounted toGlamour.
“[Acting school] was 100 percent the only thing I thought I wanted to do.

“So I changed my mind.
I decided I actually wanted a different kind of education, and that was an incredibly freeing idea.”
In 2014, students were thrilled to learn that Graham was scheduled to speak at orientation for first-year students.

The star was there for the Alumnae Book Club event.
After graduating from Barnard, Graham resumed her pursuit of acting and academics.
In 1992, she earned her MFA in theater at Southern Methodist University (viaSMU Magazine).
Although she’s best known for her acting, Graham continues to put her English degree to good use.
