And while her band, Ellypseas, experienced some modest success, they hung up their hats in 2010.

That same year, Lizzo was met with tragedy when her father passed away, which absolutely devastated her.

“I thought my life was over.”

Exhausted, Lizzo finally left Houston and joined her mother in Denver, where she now lived.

That’s where Lizzo finally found a foothold, and she started bands like The Chalice and GRRRL PRTY.
